Chinese herbal therapy

Herbal therapy is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and is often used in conjunction with other forms of TCVM, such as acupuncture and Tui Na, as the results are often greater when combined with other therapies.

Each herb has a different effect on the body and can be listed under multiple categories such as warming, cooling, sour, or bitter and can impact a variety of organs, including the liver, lungs, or heart.  Choice of an herbal formula is based on the recognition of patters based on the Five Element, Eight Principles theory, also known as pairs of opposites.
